Current Education: Pennsylvania State University (2006-present),
                                              Graduate Program in Neuroscience

Previous Research Experience:

-- Comprehensive undergraduate research project, “The Effectiveness of Dopaminergic Fetal Tissue Grafting and Neuroprotective Agent Deprenyl in 6-OHDA Animal Models of Parkinson's Disease”
-- Research Technician (June 2004-October 2005) Pennsylvania State University
-- Research Associate (October 2005-August 2006) University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, both positions in the laboratory of Teresa Wood investigating glutamate toxicity in oligodendrocyte cells

Current Research:

I’m investigating the relationship between serotonin and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) by analyzing changes in the expression of BDNF splice variants both genetically (using mice expressing different levels of serotonin transporter, SERT) and pharmacologically (using acute and chronic administration of serotonin reuptake inhibitors, SRIs).
